Block Blast

Block Blast can train children's observation skills and logical thinking. You need to learn to think many steps ahead to keep as much space as possible!

Block and Board Mechanics in Block Blast

Blocks come in many different shapes (like Tetris pieces: bars, squares, L-shaped, T-shaped, zigzag...), but there are two key rules:

  • Blocks are provided in a fixed format; you must place them as they are and cannot rotate.
  • Players always receive 3 different blocks in each turn. Only when all 3 blocks have been placed on the board, 3 new blocks are created.

Block Deletion Rules and Operations

Players just need to drag and drop the blocks into any empty position on the grid.

Deletion Rules: Blocks are blasted when they form a continuous line, without gaps:

  • Row: When all cells of a horizontal row are filled.
  • Column: When all cells of a vertical column are filled.

Score, Race, and Game End

  • The player's goal is to try to score as high as possible. Points are awarded when you place blocks and when you clear rows/columns.
  • The game ends immediately when you fail to place any of the 3 blocks provided in any of the available slots on the board.

Optimization Tips and Replay Motivation

To achieve high scores, players need to master the following strategies:

  • Clearing multiple rows or columns at once (Combo) or clearing them consecutively over multiple turns (Chain) will yield much higher bonus points than clearing individual rows.
  • Players must always keep large gaps (usually in the corners) to fit large and difficult-to-place blocks (like 3x3 squares or long bars). Filling the grid randomly will quickly lead to Game Over.

Block Blast is a block puzzle game that successfully inherits the classic spirit but brings a completely new tactical experience. The operation is just drag and drop, no time limit, bringing a relaxing, easy-to-access feeling. The block cannot be rotated, and having to deal with 3 blocks at the same time on a finite grid requires high predictive thinking.
